What is a Tiny House?

While there is no official definition of a ‘tiny house,’ most people know them to be small homes, usually no more than a few hundred square feet. For example, the tiny house that I have really poorly planned in my head is somewhere between 250-300 SF total, including the two lofts. A tiny house can be anything you want it to look like. The typical tiny is on some sort of road trailer, but some are treehouses, vans, and even school buses.
But why tiny? Tiny houses are becoming more and more mainstream these days, but still hold true to some of the movement’s core values, and my personal values and goals: cheaper and more minimal living, sustainability, and overall, enjoying the life we only get to live for so long. Many people go tiny because, in today’s world, it is extremely hard for most to afford a typical house. House prices near my childhood home are $300,000+ for barely any land! That’s crazy!
But truly, a tiny house is like any other house as long as you make it home. It is a reflection of you and your needs, wants, goals, and everything in between. What is something that is a must-have in your current or future home? I really want a rock-climbing wall that goes up to the gaming loft in my tiny!
